The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) developed two modules for a comprehensive rural public health curriculum to address a significant and persistent gap in training for public health professionals and students working in rural and frontier communities. While general environmental public health training programs exist, they often overlook the distinct challenges and needs of rural practice, such as limited staffing, geographic isolation, resource constraints, and infrastructure deficiencies.
