OPEN CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) are pleased to announce that the 15th International Conference on Lyme Borreliosis and other Tick-Borne Diseases (ICLB) will be held September 11 – 14, 2018, at the Tom Harkin Global Communications Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Deadline for Abstract Submission: March 5, 2018 at 5:00 PM.

To Submit a Proposal

Prepare the following information to submit online.

  • Topic preference. Reviewers may move your submission to a more appropriate category based on the content provided in the submission.
  • Title of submission
  • All author names and affiliations
  • Format: 15-minute oral or poster presentation
  • Abstract (300 words maximum)

Submission Criteria

The ICLB Program Committee will review all submissions for quality, relevance, potential impact, and originality. There is no limit on the number of abstracts submitted by an individual, but the submission of multiple, similar abstracts from the same investigator(s) or laboratory is discouraged.

1.) Quality: Abstracts should be well organized and easily understood. They are judged as indicators of what can be expected of the session.

2.) Relevance: Abstracts should be highly relevant to the fields of Lyme and other tickborne disease diagnostics, ecology, environmental health, epidemiology, medicine, microbiology, and pathogenesis.

3.) Impact: Abstracts should be timely, hypothesis-driven new work.  Abstracts including the following are discouraged: single case reports, open label drug trials, highly speculative accounts of clinical experience, and accounts of personal experience.

4.) Originality: Abstracts regarding innovative techniques or ideas will be favorably considered. Research published in its entirety online in manuscript form prior to submission of the abstract should not be submitted. Abstracts submitted or presented at other meetings CAN be submitted for consideration at this ICLB meeting.

5.) Commercial content: Product promotion is not permitted. It is acceptable to use a product in a study or as a proof of concept.

Note: The ICLB Program Committee reserves the right to reject an abstract if it does not follow these submission guidelines. Proposals that are incomplete or late will not be considered.
